Veterinarian
Dr. Ashley Reynolds is an Associate Veterinarian at DePorre Veterinary Hospital in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, bringing more than two decades of experience and a lifelong passion for compassionate, high-quality veterinary care. Dr. Reynolds began her veterinary career in 2001 after earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Prior to vet school, she studied Biology at the University of Michigan, where her academic excellence earned her early acceptance into MSU’s veterinary program. A Michigan native, Dr. Reynolds is proud to serve pets and families in the Bloomfield Hills area with skill, empathy, and dedication.
Dr. Reynolds is drawn to DePorre Veterinary Hospital for its strong organization, open communication, and shared values around Fear Free and low-stress handling, as well as its cat-friendly approach and commitment to remaining privately owned. She believes that clear communication and a calm, respectful environment are essential to building trust with both pets and their people. Her clinical philosophy centers on treating every patient as an individual and partnering closely with pet owners to support lifelong health and wellbeing.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Reynolds, and her husband Virgil, are raising three teenage sons. Their home is happily full with four cats—Thackery, Cashew (aka Baby), Kevin, and Gary Busey—along with a spirited pit bull mix named Busy. When she’s not caring for patients, Dr. Reynolds loves being outdoors, tending to her extensive fruit and vegetable garden, hiking, camping, and paddleboarding. An avid reader, she devours fiction—especially thrillers and supernatural mysteries—and recently read 96 books in a single year. She and her husband also enjoy traveling, often planning trips around waterfalls and state or national forests, with dreams of one day exploring all 50 states and national parks in their Airstream.
Dr. Reynolds is excited to continue building lasting relationships with pets and pet owners at DePorre Veterinary Hospital, and she looks forward to serving the Bloomfield Hills community with thoughtful, trusted veterinary care.
